Swamped with your writing assignments? Take the weight off your shoulder!
Hello everyone. This week’s focus on the evidence-based project poster. We have included some tips that may be helpful in your development of the poster. There are four poster examples to look at and we recommend looking online at different poster ideas as well.
Poster Presentation Requirements
Tips for Poster Presentations (Best Practice Recommendations):
Include the poster title, author name, and the institution where the work was completed, in large letters centered at the top of the poster. Include the address (Gannon’s) and email address (your firstname.lastname@example.org).
Present your poster sections in a methodical sequence so that others can follow the logic of your presentation. A good method is setting up your poster in a column format so that individuals interested can read your poster, first vertical, then top to bottom, and then left to right.
Use a type size that can be read easily from a considerable distance (4 feet or more). Try using a type between 14 – 20 pt. The title should be larger than the rest of the text. Select a legible font such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Helvetica.
Posters should stimulate discussion, not give a long presentation. Therefore, keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and make sure every item in your poster is necessary.
Space your information proportionally: divide your poster either horizontally or vertically into three or four sections and place your materials within those spaces.
Handouts of your poster presentation are strongly recommended for distribution to interested conference attendees. Provision of these handouts is your responsibility.
Per student’s individual project needs.
Discussion: Outline for Poster:
Post the outline that you will be using for your evidence-based project poster. The outline is meant to be a publish and a way to keep thoughts and ideas organized as well as gain suggestions from your peers. Condensing the amount of information present on the final academic poster can be a challenge. It helps to complete an outline first that is organized and has detailed content. We will be looking for organization and detailed content/verbiage. Students will post one positive comment and one suggestion of improvement to two of your peers. The more you add to this assignment the better the feedback will be to assist you with the academic poster publish due in a few weeks.
Include two academic journal that supports the use of an academic poster in relation to your EBP project.
For those of you who are in the process of implementing your EBP project, their will parts that you cannot speak to currently without results, add what details you can. You may add implementation in progress.
